Basics of Tuning

Tuning is about improving, expanding or modifying existing vehicle parts so that they fit more to individuals needs. In this blog we are going to look on different types of tuning. Here is small brief about what areas can you customize in your car.

Let's begin with very common types of tuning methods.

Exterior

Exterior tuning is like getting a haircut (mostly visual) you can get unique look by adding aftermarket parts to your vehicle. But It can also affect to performance thru aerodynamics which is given by installing spoilers, bumpers/splitters and wings. This gives you more or less drag which affects grip. But in daily driving its like haircut doesn't make you any faster even if you think it would.

Exterior upgrades:

  1. bodykits (bumpers&skirts)

  2. hoods

  3. scoops

  4. splitters

  5. rims

  6. tires

  7. suspension

  8. brakes

  9. wings

Colors like gloss, metallic, matte and chameleon play big role of styling. Painting and wrapping allows you to choose your favourite color for your vehicle.

Interior

Any car owner strives for the individuality of his/her car, and not only from the outside.

  8. Multimedia/Sound systems

Engine

This type of tuning is very common and tuners love this. Idea is to get more horsepower and torque, which equals more fun. Most used ways to get power are ECU tuning, intake and exhaust mods.

You can also be more ecofriendly and save some pennies with fuel type change and spend them to your new bodykit.

Engine upgrades:

  1. Engine swap

  2. Cylinder boring

  3. Adding compressor (Turbo or Supercharger)

  4. Cold air intake

  5. Exhaust

  6. Cam

  7. Fuel system

  8. Ignition system

  9. Ecu tuning

  10. Nitrous system

More power... more problems.

Well thanks to:

Drivetrain upgrades you don't have to worry about that. Upgrading your stock clutch is next investment after other power mods. The right clutch flywheel combo package will have your car feeling strong and responsive as ever. If you go even more far then Different transmissions, drive shafts, differentials, and axles will help you to handle all that power.

Suspension

Car manufacturers design their suspension of their cars to appeal to widest possible target group (try to make them cheap) which causes travel sickness, puking, and spine injury. So suspension tuning is something that is must to be done. It enhances car’s handling, appearance and your grandmas back issues.

Brakes, Tires & Rims

  1. Brakes

Bigger brake kits offer better stopping power. Larger size calibers and drilled/slotted discs with grippier brake pads will shorten stopping distance. So you don't kill your neighbors dog. They also look a lot better.

  2. Tires

Different tire dimensions affects the way your car handles. Wider tires give you more grip. There are plenty of options of compounds, treads and sizes that affect performance of the rubber. Tires also play huge role of how your car looks.

  3. Rims

Rims are big part of how your car looks. Most people prefer larger diameter and wider rim to show off, but bigger also means some extra weight. This might be bad since lighter rims improve your car performance and handling.

Conclusion

We can say that its all comes to your own imagination. Either you want to just visit a store for some groceries, or hit car meets with coolest car.

Tuning makes your trip better!
